Belarus’ chemical, petrochemical output up 32% in January-February
In January-February Belarus manufactured more than 1 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers, up 89.3% over the same period last year. In the period under review, Belarus produced 841,700 tonnes of potash fertilizers (222.5% as against January-February 2009), 133,200 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers (108.5%) and 34,200 tonnes of phosphate fertilizers (107.4%).
Belarus increased the production of other chemical and petrochemical products as well. Over the two months, the production of cord fabric increased by 81.3% up to 11.5 million square meters, chemical fiber and thread – by 31.9% up to 36,200 thousand tonnes.
The production of artificial resin and plastics made up 54,400 tonnes, down 3.4% compared with the same period last year. Over the two months this year, the production of paint materials downed by 53.7% to 56,400 tonnes.
Over the two months this year, Belarus produced 588,800 car tyres (117.6% as against the same period of 2009), 184,300 truck tyres (129.8%), 94,100 agricultural tyres (116.8%).
As of 1 March 2010, the stockpiles of ready products at chemical and petrochemical enterprises of Belarus made up 44.7% as against monthly output (Br4.932 trillion).
