Belarus-Lithuania international economic forum to take place in Vilnius September 16-19
The Belarusian-Lithuanian international economic forum will take place in Vilnius on September 16-19. The issues of arranging the event will top the agenda of the forthcoming meeting between the Prime Ministers of Belarus and Lithuania, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valery Voronetsky told media on June 19.
“Partaking in the forum will be companies and firms from almost all countries of the Baltic region. It will probably be a Baltic regional forum that would give a serious impetus to the Belarusian-Lithuanian trade and economic cooperation as well as to the whole trade and economic collaboration in the region,” Valery Voronetsky said.
Vice Foreign Minister of Lithuania Evaldas Ignatavicius stressed that at the forthcoming meeting in Grodno the prime ministers of the two countries will discuss the areas of using the port of Klaipeda.
According to the Lithuanian guest, the energy issue “is vital for Lithuania in terms of the Ignalina nuclear power station closure”. “We know the plans of Belarus to construct a nuclear power station, and we are interested in various aspects including the ecological and energy issues,” Evaldas Ignatavicius emphasized.
