Polish businessmen keen on investing in Belarus
Businessmen from the Pomorskie Wojewodztwo are highly interested in close cooperation with Belarusian companies-exporters and in the implementation of investment projects in Belarus. The statement was made during a meeting between Polish businessmen and Consul General of Belarus in Gdansk Ruslan Yesin, BelTA learnt from the Consulate General.
The Pomorskie businessmen received detailed information on the Belarusian goods with EU certificates that can be in demand at the Polish market. In particular, trucks, utilities vehicles, buses, consumer goods and agro-industrial products have been offered for sales in Poland. The Polish side has also got interested in favourable investment conditions provided for foreign investors in Belarus, especially in the small and medium-sized towns.
Consul General of Belarus in Gdansk Ruslan Yesin stressed that the Pomorskie Wojewodztwo is one of Polish most active regions in cooperation with Belarus. Expanding cooperation between the Pomorskie Wojewodztwo and the Vitebsk oblast, between the towns located within these regions, implementation of concrete investment projects in the FEZ Vitebsk show the real attempts being made by the two sides and set up a favourable base for further expansion of contacts in the business and investment area. According to the diplomat, constructive position of regional authorities and the activity of the Pomorskie businessmen towards the development of the bilateral Belarus-Poland contacts can serve as a good example for other regions.
“It is important to interest Polish businessmen in new Belarusian goods and its investment potential ahead of a large-scale economic event — the National Exhibition of Belarus in Warsaw — that is due in June,” Ruslan Yesin said.
