Neman Glassworks to launch new glass wool facility in 2010
The Neman Glassworks intends to set up a glass wool production in 2010, BelTA learnt from the company.
Now the company is holding a tender for a general contractor. Under the terms of the tender, the contractors should be the designer and manufacturer of the equipment. The company hopes to choose the general contractor by the end of April. The new facility is to produce 48 tonnes per day.
Thanks to intertwined flexible fibers, glass wool offers excellent fire-resistant properties as a thermal insulation material and is also widely used as an absorbent material in acoustic treatments. Its light weight, flexibility and elasticity make it easy to install, which is another essential condition for effective insulation.Glass wool is also an excellent heat insulator.
The Neman Glassworks was founded in 1883 as a small enterprise with one glass furnace and twenty workers. It produced pharmaceutical utensils and beer glassware. Today the company’s product range features 3,000 items made of crystal, coloured and colourless glass for homes, cafes, restaurants, interior decorations of offices and households. Neman Glassware employs more than 4,000 professionals.
